Annual Summer Picnic

Every July, we host a Serbian Picnic at our picnic grounds on Kings Creek Road in Weirton, WV, less than an hour from downtown Pittsburgh. The grounds span approximately 11 acres in a scenic and peaceful hollow along Kings Creek, providing extensive tree shaded lawns and plenty of parking space.

The facilities include a covered pavilion (with bar, stage and dance floor), a kitchen and food sales building, a building for barbequing lamb, pig, chickens and other meats (both on spits over open fires and in a wood-fired oven), a playground for the children, a paved basketball court, sports field, walk-in coolers and restrooms.

The Serbian Picnic Grounds is operated by the Holy Resurrection Church’s Serbian Men’s Club and is available for rent during the summer.

Directions from Pittsburgh/the East

Go west on US-22 towards Weirton. Cross into West Virginia.
Take WV-105/COLLIERS WAY exit 5.
Turn RIGHT onto WV-105 COLLIERS WAY. Go 0.6 miles.
Turn LEFT onto WV-105 PENNSYLVANIA AVE. Go 3.2 miles
Turn RIGHT onto NORTH 12TH ST.
Proceed straight through four-way stop intersection. NORTH 12th St becomes KINGS CREEK ROAD.
SERBIAN PICNIC GROUNDS will be less than a mile on the right.

Directions from I-80/the North

Take OH-11 south towards EAST LIVERPOOL
Merge onto OH-7 South towards WELLSVILLE. Go 22.6 miles.
Take US-22 EAST towards PITTSBURGH. Cross river into West Virginia.
Merge onto WV-2 North/ Main Street via EXIT 2 toward DOWNTOWN WEIRTON. Go 2.5 miles
Turn RIGHT onto WV-105/PENNSYLVANIA AVE. Go 1.1 miles.
Turn LEFT onto NORTH 12TH ST.
Proceed straight through four-way stop intersection. NORTH 12th St becomes KINGS CREEK ROAD.
SERBIAN PICNIC GROUNDS will be less than a mile on the right.
